Hum is the smallest city in the world, in Croatia also known as the City of biska, the strong alcoholic drink with mistletoe. According to a legend, the city of Hum originated when the Giants were building cities in the valley of river Mirna and the stone that was left was used to build Hum. Its walls in medieval times kept the locals from the attacks from the Turks and the Venetians. In Hum ends the famous memorial complex, Glagolitic Alley which extends for 7 km between cities of Roč and Hum. Today the city of Hum has around 20 citizens. The „tour“ of the city doesn’t last more than 5 minutes, but you can spend your time in one of its local restaurants tasting some of Istria’s finest specialities.
